Note:

This all stems from my obsession with composition, color, texture, light, form, etc.--what I eventually discovered are the "formal elements" of art, photography and design. My reliance on these principles is increased by the fact that I'm using a cheap digital camera, rarely if ever "PhotoShopping" anything, and the fact that your computer monitor will only display images at a crude 72 DPI resolution.

For as long as I can remember I've felt that ANY subject matter can make a good (or at least compelling or intriguing) photo if done well. Nature, natural forms and overlooked objects are also an inspiration. I don't expect everyone to find compelling all the things I do. But, in a nutshell, this note sums up my intent. However I DO reserve the right to post the occasional cute animal pic or a photo whose (whose?!) only appeal is a clever idea or captured moment...

Maybe I should just have said I believe beauty hides in the simplest places...

I sincerely hope these are engaging photos, 'cuz, ya know what?--Ain't nothing worse than some jerk pontificating in "artsy" terminology about a load of bollocks.
