Photo-A-Day,
Everyday for one year...
Okay! More like Seven-Photos-A-Week lately. That's One-A-Day. Plus iron.

Life is tough. Sometimes you have to dig in your heels and emulate the gear teeth of a ratchet: You may not move forward, but you're not about to slip back.
I went to a movie with friends last night and they mentioned drinks afterwards. The first thought popped up was:
"Ehh, I've got Scotch in the car."
Not that I touch the ol' flask much, even when it's filled with expensive (but brilliant) Talisker. I drink it as if it were boiling hot, first-flush Darjeeling tea: One TINY sip at a time enjoyed by pallet, tongue and especially sinuses (the vapors are the best part.) At $50/bottle I can afford 1.5 bottles/year. Good thing I'm a slow-sipping "connoisseur" (but not a snob.)
We went out for food and I ordered green tea and a beer, A Great Lakes Brewery Edmund Fitzgerald, featuring historic and Gordon Lightfoot references, not to mention quite a nice flavor. The waiter forgot the beer and I decided, "If he brings it, I'll drink it. If not, I deserve a night off the sauce."
He didn't bring it. Good for me. Too much drink lately.
That's right, job stress is getting to me. All I want is something that leaves me sane and awake enough after work to do my art, writing and photography.
Ghaaaaah.
My camera's broken.

The flash is permanently on, the preview/review screen doesn't work, and it was never fancy to begin with (forcing me to rely on composition, as I prefer anyway.)
It'll be two weeks before I buy a new Image Stealer, and I may take a formal vacation from Photo-A-Day in the meantime.
All of the photos here need to be transferred to my Flickr stream anyway, although I save the best for the brilliant JPG Magazine online. Maybe I'll get that done while my camera ails...
There's only so much you can do with a camera-phone and a digital that always flashes. It's a nice challenge, but try capturing a rainbow on a countertop without the flash wiping it out...
Okay, so it's nearly the last day of April, I've posted over 100 photos, I'm posting some more now, and I'll see you soon.
